Hi everyone! Thank you so much for being here and caring about what I write about with my own purpose-driven writer’s calling.
I wanted to let you writers know that there's still time today to register for the second meetup of The Writer's Calling, an IFS-informed community for your writing muses, your self-sabotaging parts that get in the way of your writing, and your passionate, purpose-driven writer's calling parts (and any other parts that feel inspired to sit down with the pen or computer!)
Our next meetup is today at noon PST for two hours- or you can join us via the recording. Today, I even got dressed up for you all, including wearing my muse hat and costume, just in case it inspires you to find your own muse costume, hat, and rituals.
If you feel called to write, the way priests are called to the priesthood, as a spiritual calling or the calling of your activism, we welcome you to a join this inspiring community of writers who are masterminding together, doing our writing in shared communal space, working with writing prompts (or not, if you're working on your own writing project.) Today, we'll be taking volunteers to raise your hand to get masterminded (master-"hearted") by me and the other writers. And then everyone will have the chance to do the same with each other soon!
In our next meeting up, we’ll be doing a segment about Substack, so if you’re thinking of starting your own Substack, feel free to join us! When writers link up together to help support what we all write, we can uplift one another, inspire each other, and fly to our purpose-inspired heights together. I couldn’t have done what I’ve done with my own writing if I hadn’t had a wonderful mastermind/ masterheart/ spiritmind of other writers, including my friend Artist Shiloh Sophia, who is the inspiration for today’s Writer’s Calling muse theme and who I just had the chance to paint with this week.
If you’d like to join The Writer’s Calling, we’ll be helping writing mastermind groups get set up this week and I’m so excited to see what happens!

Here’s a few “Lightning round” writing prompts, along with instrumental music you can listen to while writing, from our last session…
1 min LIGHTNING PROMPT: You’re standing at a crossroads. There’s a signpost with two signs pointing in opposite directions. Without thinking too much, what’s written on the two signs?
2 min LIGHTNING PROMPT: Name a decision that you could make today that your future self would thank you for.
3 min LIGHTNING PROMPT: What is in your life that you can say “I like myself here” (place, person, activity, etc)
2 min LIGHTNING PROMPT: If you were able to give yourself subliminal messaging through your computer 500 times a day, what would the message be?
2 min LIGHTNING PROMPT: What is your dangerous prayer?
3 min LIGHTNING PROMPT: Tap into your inner elder. What advice would they give you right now for navigating this juncture of your life.
10 min CREATIVE PROMPT: The promise I want to make to myself with regard to writing is…
Share something you’ve written in the comments!

Those two signs? Both say Oslo and we’re on bikes, long before our iPhones. Miles and miles from the city… Oh, the choices we make! And Ohhh, all those parts expressing their opinions. Especially about the freeway miles and USA-hating drunk Bjorn (much more understandable now). But my storyteller part has made great mileage since then and is nudging me to take out a pen.
