I'm so glad I found you on substack Lissa. I went through Martha's coach training in 2014 and always thought the the work seemed like mind fuckery.

I have watched from the sidelines mostly but i also am guilty of ignoring my intuition and following these narcissistic grifters.

Your writings feel like un-gaslighting. Thank you for being such a beautiful example of a true truth teller.

The problem with Byron Katie’s “The Work” is that it doesn’t stand up in all situations with all people - try getting a kid to find ways they have sexually violated themselves??!!

Not only this, The Work assumes that one is not a victim of another’s action’s instead but only a victim of your own self abusive behaviour. This is simplistic & dualistic thinking. The complex reality is, BOTH can be simultaneously true at the same time. But of course, that’s too complex and doesn’t sell books or workshops, does it ???!!
